BSE Holidays 2024

Bombay stock exchange is one of the premier stock exchanges operating in India, listing more than 6000 companies. It is the oldest stock exchange established in the continent of Asia. It is the third biggest stock exchange in the entire world. 

BSE plays an important role in regulating and managing the financial markets of India, channeling idle resources into the economic growth of the country. It includes a wide array of market data products, corporate data products, EOD products, and other data products as well.

Trade-in BSE occurs from 9.15 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. on weekdays, while Saturday-Sunday is observed as BSE holidays. Pre-market open trading happens between 9.00 to 9.15 a.m. Apart from the weekends, several national holidays having cultural and religious significance are also considered as BSE trading holidays.

Separate BSE holiday list 2024 has been published by this stock exchange based on trading sectors. Trading and clearing holidays have been segregated as well, wherein trading holidays constitute no transactions in the Bombay stock exchange.

On days of clearing BSE holidays, on the other hand, the purchase and sale of securities take place, but financial transfers of resources from investors to companies are postponed as banks remain non-functional on these days.

• Muhurat Trading shall be held on November 01, 2024 (Diwali – Laxmi Pujan).
• The Exchange may alter/change any of the above holidays, for which a separate circular shall be issued in advance.

Trading Timings in BSE

Pre-Open Timings

Modification/order entry begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 9:15 a.m. on all business days.

Regular Trading Timings

Restricted physical market or normal market begins at 9:15 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. on all business days.

Timings of Block Deal Session

The morning block deal window begins at 8:45 a.m. and ends at 9:00 a.m. The afternoon block deal window begins at 2:05 p.m. and ends at 2:20 p.m. The trading session is closed between the timings 3:40 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Also, if it is necessary, the trading hours can be expanded, decreased, or advanced as well.

Muhurat Trading on BSE

Muhurat Trading shall be held on 01st November 2024 (Friday) on account of Diwali.
